MYST in Spartanburg,
SC, Features Works by Jane Doyle
MYST, the sister gallery
to Carolina Gallery on Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg,
SC, is hosting an exhibition of new work by Jane Doyle from Sept.
16 through Oct. 28, 2010.
Doyle approaches each of her acrylic paintings with imagination
and the influence of her life experiences. Add improvisation,
spontaneity and her study of abstractionists Rothko, de Kooning
and Frankenthaler, and the resulting works are fresh and luminous
visual statements. Doyle says "By working in a non-objective
format, I have the ability to combine my love of colors with informality
of form."
Doyle has been included in numerous juried exhibitions throughout the Southeast. Among her several awards is the William Moore award for the South Carolina Watermedia Society 2000. She was chosen for the traveling show and her painting was subsequently acquired for the collection at Piedmont Technical College.
