MoNA gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Works by Christoffer Relander, Peter Essick, and Eleanor Annand
MoNA gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present Christoffer Relander + Peter Essick + Eleanor Annand, on view from Sept. 6 through Oct. 26, 2013. A reception will be held on Sept. 6, from 6-9pm.
Christoffer Relander currently lives in his hometown of Raseborg, Finland. Today, he’s most known for his multiple exposure images between man and nature. He has become a successful young fine art photographer working with national and international clients. His work has been featured in several notable publications, including the LA Times, the cover of New Scientist magazine, and on Oprah Winfrey’s blog as “something to be grateful for”.
Relander’s work is exclusively available through MoNA gallery in the US.
Recently named one of the forty most influential nature photographers in the world, Peter Essick has traveled extensively over the last two decades making photographs that move beyond mere documentation to reveal in careful composition the human impact of development as well as the enduring power of the land.
Essick has been a contributor to National Geographic Magazine for 25 years, and this collection of photographs from the Ansel Adams Wilderness will be published as a book by National Geographic in 2014.
Penland School of Craft alumni Eleanor Annand has been called a Southern Style maker. Her minimalist prints, illustrations, and enamel sgraffito work on steel are meant to convey the uniqueness of one person’s line (or story) to the next. She describes her creative process as both labor intensive and meditative. Most days, you’ll find Annand hard at work in her Asheville, NC, letterpress studio, the 7 Ton Press.
